SRC (Student Representative Council)

At Penshurst Public School, two representatives from all Year 1 to Year 6 classes participate in the Student Representative Council.

At the beginning of the year, students from these classes vote for their class representatives.  These students represent them at the Council. The student executive, comprising the school captains and prefects, are the main organising committee of the SRC.

The SRC members must promise to:

  • be committed to the welfare of all students

  • try to improve our school

  • be reliable

  • be responsible

  • set a good example to others

  • try to think creatively and to express opinions

  • keep others informed

  • encourage others to share their ideas.

These are values that are modelled to the student members, who are guided by SRC co-ordinator. Meetings are held in school time – Tuesdays 12:30 - 1.00pm every fortnight.

The SRC organises such things as fundraising, fun-filled activities and debating possible changes to school environment that may benefit pupils.
