A message from our Principal
I want to warmly welcome you to
Penshurst Public School. I am very proud to be principal of
Penshurst Public School. I trust that through this visit you will
see the school as a place where your child will be cared for in a
personal way, a place where your child will “AIM
HIGH” in all aspects of education along with the
other students and teachers.
The years your
child will spend at this school will be valuable ones, which will be
significantly enriched by your positive involvement in our school
activities. We look forward to your child contributing to our proud
tradition of excellence.
Here at Penshurst Public School
students from over 60 nations of the world intermingle in an
environment of tolerance and respect. We have a hearing impaired
unit which enrols students from three years of age. These students
are integrated for many subjects and help all students to develop
understanding of and positive relationships with each other.
Students all wear school uniform and there are warm relations
between parents and staff.
The Parents and Citizens
Association and the School Council meet regularly. The Parent
Network meetings keep parents up to date with curriculum and
teaching/learning support for their children.
Our school has a
long tradition of parental involvement and you are invited to
participate fully in the life of our school community. Whatever your
contribution, it will be valued.
Highly skilled and committed
staff ensure outstanding learning outcomes for all students. There
is a strong focus on literacy and numeracy skills at the school. ESL (English as a second language) teachers, a learning teacher and
the teacher librarian support students to improve and learn. Computers are in every classroom and information technology skills
are integrated across the curriculum. There are many extra curricular
opportunities for students at the school including dance, choir and
signing choir, chess club, band and sport.
At Penshurst Public School
we aim high to ensure all students have the opportunity to reach
their personal best. We are committed to promoting our core values,
and to work in partnership with students, parents and the school
community. Our goal is for all students to take an active part in a
democratic Australian society as informed citizens.
Please contact me if you would
like to tour the school or any further information on 9580 3400.
